Deborah Henry-Pollard is a coach working with individuals in the creative and cultural sector. Her aim is to help "light the blue touchpaper" which sends the creative fireworks into orbit. She also has the desire that people discover that the skills and imagination which feed their creative work can also be used to be successful in other areas of their professional lives.
The key areas she specialises in are:
- Supporting people in finding and clarifying their vision for their future and identifying the next steps.
- Coaching in being more productive and effective.
- Working with people who are nervous about business, apprehensive about attending workshops or seeking business advice, supporting them to the stage where they are ready to go to more specialist marketers, trainers, accountants, agents, etc. If business is a bicycle, think of her as the training wheels!
Deborah has been running her own coaching company, Catching Fireworks, since 2009. Prior to that, she had 30 years experience in the arts, charity and retail sectors. She has project managed the establishment of several businesses, co-founded a development education centre and raised £3 million for charity. She has worked with organisations including English National Opera, Cameron Mackintosh, Studio Voltaire, Chester Gateway Theatre and Chester Literature Festival. She is passionate about the arts in all its forms.
On a practical level, she loves linking people together so that complementary skills and collaborations (whether across arts and or business) can enhance everyone’s practice and career. Her own creativity is expressed through dancing the Argentine Tango, which shares many of the characteristics of coaching. She is also a Trustee for Southwark Arts Forum.
