In May 2017, The Rooftop Collective - a group powered by Be Smart About Art, is visiting the Photo London Fair.
This event will kick-off with an overview of the annual event, to be followed by an hour's tour with Susan Mumford, in which you'll be guided through the fair, visiting five individually selected five stands. For photographers attending the event, you'll have the opportunity to join the Collective's May 2017 meet-up that follows at 5pm, after having an opportunity to peruse the fair on your own.
At the Meet-Up, all attendees, including first-time visitors, will have an opportunity to show their portfolios, inviting peer input.
3.00 - 3.15pm - Meet at main entrance to Photo London (reception of South Wing of Somerset House)
3.15 - 4.30pm - Take a tour of Photo London, guided by Susan Mumford, Founder of Be Smart About Art.
4.30 - 5.00pm - Free time to browse the fair or take a break.
5.00 - 6.00pm - Collective Meet-Up (location TBC, set to be on site at Somerset House).
**Only 10 spots are available for this event, owing to limited capacity for the fair tour.**
Special note on pricing: The BSAA 'Member' ticket is exactly the same price as a Friday day pass. This private BSAA event includes a tour, networking opportunities and Collective Meet-Up, providing excellent value for this boutique photography fair. ABOUT THE ROOFTOP COLLECTIVE:
Established in 2010, this group is comprised of professional photographers who are mutually developing creative and professional practice.
The collective meets on a monthly basis to present recent works, critique one another's images and practices and, above and beyond all else, simultaneously support and challenge one another in their ongoing journeys within an increasingly competitive field.
You'll be invited to commit to What 3 Things you'll do to work ON your creative & professional practice over the next month.

Paris Photo, Foto Fever and AKAA: Paris, France, 9th – 12th November 2017 - The Collective is considering taking a trip to visit these fairs and related events taking place during Paris Photo Week.
Attending for the first time?
You will have a 5-10 minute slot to tell the group about yourself, your journey, where you intend to be going, and to show examples from your portfolio. You will be able to get immediate feedback from a group that understands providing useful constructive criticism!

"Who is eligible to join?"
Photographers who are dedicated to developing their practice. Active participation is essential for individuals to benefit.
If you're interested in experiencing the benefits of the group yourself, book to attend a Collective meeting. And only if it's the right fit for you, apply to join.
Note: The Collective Membership capacity is 10 people. The group presently has six Members.

"What's my investment to join?"
The most important investment is your time. By making an active effort to attend meetings (either in person or remotely via internet connection), you will gain the greatest benefit.
The monthly membership subscription is 25 GBP.
Note: If you would also like to join Be Smart About Art Membership, your Collective Membership will be reduced by 20%, so you pay £29.95 per month for both Be Smart About Art & the Photography Collective.

You can separately sign-up for The Rooftop Collective (successful application providing) for 20 GBP per month.

You have access to the monthly meeting.
You're eligible to exhibit at shows - for example, in group and/or solo shows as part of the ongoing partnership with GoldCrest Films, as well as exhibitions in correlation with Photo Month (October each year).
